Etymology of the word Militant
So why did I chose such a provocative name for this blog?
Militant? What’s that all about you might wonder.
The word militant comes from the 15th Century Latin “militare” meaning “to serve as a soldier”. The related modern concept of the militia as a defensive organization against invaders grew out of the Anglo-Saxon “fyrd”. In times of crisis, the militiaman left his civilian duties and became a soldier until the emergency was over, when he returned to his civilian status.
Sadly it is my belief that a time will come in the near future that as stated above, a time of crisis will arise, some of us will have to leave our civilian duties behind, and become a soldier. It will be then that I become the TNMilitant.
I will say fully and without reservation that I view the turn this country is taking as dangerous, the government is over stepping it’s bounds, and the constitution is under daily assault, there will come a time where all freedom loving people will have to make a stand, and when we do; we will all be labeled “militants”.
