The DHS rightwing Boogey man report
April 16th, 2009 by TNM
Been quiet around here at TNM I suppose, but Okay, devils advocate time here.
Like a lot of folks, I was pretty ticked off when I saw these headlines about the DHS and domestic terror reports. This coupled with Tax day and what looks to be a sneering reply from these horses ass so called political experts in regard to the Tea-Party rallies did not do anything to make me like Jugears or his democrats buddies one damn bit more, in fact, I grow more and more disgusted with him and his appointees day by day.
Of course now, Janet Napolitano is tripping over her heels (and rightly so) trying to pacify some seriously pissed off veterans groups, and it’s always a great time to watch dumb as a box of rocks people like her squirm, she, like a lot of this current crop of elites in D.C. are CLUE-LESS. Then, when the shi* hits the fan like this they make utter fools of themselves running around trying to do damage control.
Too late Janet, you own it …Good times!!
But I digress, setting my initial reaction aside, like most rational people do, I pinched my nose and read the thing in it’s entirety, and seriously, I’d have to say; Speaking from one with lots and lots, of years in some type of government service, Offensive on certain levels yes, but it is basically nothing more than boilerplate mish-mash government belly button gazing, more or less.
In fact I’ll say without reservation, it’s so overly broad and based on various far reaching assumptions, It’s even less worthy of serious consideration than the report that surfaced in MO. This is the work of some brain dead civil servant that must of spent a whole 20 minutes doing Google searches and spit out a paper on a Friday afternoon thinking about their weekend visit with the mother in law from hell.
Or, maybe that “servant” has the hots for Janet, that would explain it.
The DHS has been at this sort of thing for years since it’s inception, although one part is irritating to a US. Veteran like me:
DHS/I&A assesses that right-wing extremists will attempt to recruit and
radicalize returning veterans in order to exploit their skills and knowledge derived from military training and combat. These skills and knowledge have the potential to boost the capabilities of extremists—including lone wolves or small terrorist cells—to carry out violence. The willingness of a small percentage of military personnel to join extremist groups during the 1990s because they were disgruntled, disillusioned, or suffering from the psychological effects of war is being replicated today.
Now any rational person knows that if you look at the numbers of people in uniform the over all size of the military as a segment of our population is far less than 10% of the 300 Million estimated Americans. Add in a percentage of 40 plus million veterans and You MIGHT make that 10%, of the total population, maybe, but I doubt it. But’d you’d have to have an awful lot of folks running around getting ready to wage war on the US Government to even approach “a small percentage” of the entire military and veteran combined populations.
Where this report goes off the rails here is with that “small percentage” as most folks know “it’s only a small percentage of Muslims using terrorist attacks” Still equates to a pretty sizable faction of people…same principle here, only on a smaller scale, where this is wrong is that they threw out generalizations that could in fact be interpreted as numbers in the thousands, as there is well over a million people in uniform.
Sadly, It also has a central theme throughout the entire paper that keeps coming back to race, and that’s disturbing as well. To read this paper you’d think there are 10 million KKK Members getting ready to wage war on D.C. The government needs to get over this race baiting crap, again it paints this overly broad picture of people and you have to ask when the hell did you last see a KKK rally? Really? TNM LIVES in a stereotypical “racist” area, TN …and I’ve yet to see one single burning cross, no people in white customs running around…nothing. I see a lot of hard working frustrated people chaffing under the boot of a overreaching federal government, but there isn’t this bogeyman racist running around in fly over country. GIVE IT A REST already. Jesus!!
The DHS needs to take a hard look at this sort of language, it’s garbage and the person responsible for this report should be severely reprimanded. Maybe A fitting punishment ….ol Janet will show up in her rubber suit and stilettos …GAK!
The military is not some breeding ground for “right-wing” extremist thought, and it, on the contrary ,teaches more about tolerance, and equal opportunity then any sector private or government in the nation. 99.9999 % OF ALL PEOPLE IN THE MILITARY BELIEVE IN HONOR…that is something this current crop of morons in DC seem to have a hard time grasping with reports such as these. That is a FACT.
TNM doesn’t like the current crop of politicians, I think Obama and his cabal are a bunch of nincompoops. I own guns, and a fair amount of ammo, I also keep stores in my basement, for emergency use, furthermore TNM supports the military 100% and is a VET; so DHS am I at risk for becoming an extremist too? According to this I am…BOO!
Maybe I am, but maybe it has nothing to do with race, or the fact that I am a veteran, or that I am white, and live in “rural” areas, but everything to do with a Federal Government that has no moral compass, and bends over backwards to appease the true threats to this country, all the while painting the people that served her, bled for her, and died for her as a bunch of simple minded gullible fools, and as domestic terror threats that are running around the “rural areas” of America with Pipe Bombs.
Morons.
